Early entry to grammar school
Hello all,
Has anybody out there managed to enter their child a year early into grammar schools in buckingham?
I know for a fact that some children have managed to get in a year early but not sure how.
I need some clarification with the procedures and wheather my child will be allowed to take the test early.
Curious...........
Pat.

Normally, I believe the child should have been working for some time with children in a higher age group. (This is likely to be accepted as proof of academic ability, and the ability to cope socially.)
Alternatively, if the county refuse your request, and you have sufficient evidence of exceptional ability, you could appeal against "refusal to test".
Be warned, however, that if the child does take the test a year early and fails to qualify, BCC will take the view that the test cannot be taken again at the age of 11.
