scores for verbal reasoning

Post by hertsmum »

Hi

What scores should a child be getting in vr to get 121 pass mark.

My ds has been kind of yo-yoing , sometime he is good , but some days he makes so many silly mistakes, I am at my wits end. I am using IPS, and Susan daughtery papers.

I want to give him a target score whiche he has to try and get in each paper. Hopefully that would help.

Thanks

Dear Hertsmum

The raw score required is very approximately 86%. As the pass mark will vary slightly each year, I prefer my students to be scoring in the region of 90%.

Thanks Patricia , maybe I will have to resort to some kind of bribery to get him to attain atleast 90%.

I am going down the DIY route, I was wondering is there any way I can assess whether ds is grammar school material.

Thanks once again

Dear Hertsmum

You still have 3 months to increase scores.

Personally, I firmly believe in a bit of bribary, as long as the prize is NOT for passing. Rewards for working quickly, efficiently and accurately [ without whinging and whining! ]
