We are OOC and so running behind everyone else's timetable. DC's school finally started the familiarisation tests on Monday. I didn't realise they would be doing this and so had done them with my DC back in September at home when Bucks sent them directly to us. Would you believe that on Paper A my DC got the same ones wrong as last time plus two new ones!!!! Dc found the paper very easy but it seems just couldn't be bothered to get it right ...even after I'd done the whole teabag thing to help remember 'perforations'!!! And believe me it wasn't nerves - DC came home after Paper A almost laughing about the fact that he'd done the paper before but couldn't remember the answers - maybe it was embarrassment. DC is still gettting a 'pass' mark but on recent tests is getting closer and closer to a 'fail' Has/did anyone else come across this syndrome of going off the boil...and did it effect their DC's performance for the real thing! At least it proves the point that there's no advantage in knowing what's on the paper!!!

Sorry to bore on when most of you are beyond this stage and don't need the stress but I'm having a quiet panic!!

I think it means your child is quite smart! 'It's only a pratice test' so why should I bother!

I would not worry ... it's a boy thing

I have a son, I sympathise!

However remind him that he won;t\ know the real test, so he has to actually READ what is written.

I am still banging my head against the wall in year 11
