help with Ques

Hi could anyone explain this ques to me please!! its from the tutors CD 2 test 10 ques 54.
3 of the 5 words are conected,

Soul, Grit, Alcohol, Pluck, Spirit

the answer is Soul and Alcohol (odd ones out)

Grit, Pluck,Spirit - words that are related to courage

Grit means the same as pluck and spirit - someone who tackles something with ...grit/pluck/spirit means they 'throw everything' into it.

Not words you hear much and they all have other meanings too ...
