Hi,

DS has just done an VR paper this morning for Guernsey 11+. Gave him a good breakfast and send off and can't wait to see how he got on at
3.30 pm. Has another 5 papers to do before the results in May. His best friend is sitting Colyton on Saturday so fingers crossed for him also.

Chin up.

And we are at the halfway point of the Torquay Boys Grammar tests- despatched my Cool as a Cucumber 10 year old last Saturday for his (hated) English and (liked) Verbal Reasoning. Despite the fact that we had only practiced Stories for the essay part of the English test, he managed to choose to write a formal letter. I nearly died when I heard that!! We have not revised letter writing at all so I hope the content is more important than the layout etc.

Maths - and Verbal Reasoning again - this week. The school were very good; kids in small groups, same groups again this week and there were no obviously upset kids. Just a lot of worried parents!

Looking forward to the end of this part - then it's just the ludicrously long wait until March to hear whether he has been successful.

Phew. It was a long haul but I hope all the work was worthwhile. Certainly my son went into the exams more confident - and seems quite confident now!! However he is relentlessly optimistic so I am not too reassured.

We now have the lonnnnnnnnng wait until March until we hear the result. I understand that Colyton tell you if you have passed or not in January even though they don't confirm you have a place. I wish Torquay could do the same.

best of luck to everyone with this still ahead of you.

Fiona

Good luck - it seems such a ridiculously long wait, particularly for children!
