Looking for good prep school in the Poole/ Bournemouth areas for DS and DD. Single sex and co-ed considered. Any ideas as no idea where to start! What about Uplands? Buckholme Towers? Talbot? Any other recommendations/ warnings?

For info, I've heard that Uplands is merging with Wentworth College which, according to the head, is to become the new 'super' school. (I believe Wentworth College was rescued from receivers a year or so ago - maybe someone else can confirm. Not sure what age groups they will cater for.)
I don't know much about prep schools myself as my 2 went to primary but I know The Park School and Talbot Health both have good reputations. Maybe check the Good School's Guide website.

Hi
Yes, Wentworth was rescued last year and has now merged with Uplands. Younger children on Uplands site and older now miles away at Wentworth. Fees increasing to Wentworth level "gradually." Uplands co-ed, Wentworth just started taking boys.
Think about Dumpton (Wimborne) and Castle Court (Corfe Mullen) too. Both co-ed and sporty. Yarrells (Upton) more musical and arty. Talbot Heath has good reputation but girls only unless you are elite tennis standard (only hearsay - but supposed to be linked with local tennis academy)

Thank you, is Uplands closing then? Will look up your recommendations. Much appreciated.
