Sorry if this is a silly question but I would rather risk appearing silly than disadvantage my son.

He is good at English mainly but not so much with written tasks. I was under the impression this year the English exam is all multiple choice, as per their own website which states the English paper tests comprehension, vocabulary and punctuation. However does that still mean there is a written paper as well as there has been in recent years I understand?

On http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/school ... et-11-plus it states for BSB there is an English Essay (30 minutes) – is intended to test ability to spell, punctuate, organise ideas, use a variety of syntax and be aware of the effect on audience of the composition of the piece. This paper is set in conformity with Key Stage 2 of the national curriculum.

I am now getting very confused and concerned? Is anyone able to clear this up for me :(

Hi!

Don't worry, it's multiple choice - no written element. :-)
