Hi, hope someone can help! I live in Essex and my DD has not had an offer of a place for Colchester grammar as we had hoped. Very disappointed DD! I will ring LEA on Monday to ask re:waiting list. This is our first experience of this system and it is a bit confusing isn't it? She has a ranking of 275 for this school. Does she stand any sort of chance of getting in? Does anybody have experience of being in this sort of position? Any advice greatly received!!

Sorry to hear the disappointing news. My advice would be to ring CSSE in the morning and ask the lady what the cut off point (i.e the last rank that got in) for Colchester Grammar Girl School was. At least, you will have some idea before you ring LEA on Monday.

Good Luck

I called CSSE today re ColCHS. They told me the cutoff for the initial allocation was 157.
Above taken from another post, this may give you some idea, but you really need to find out her position on the waiting list on Monday. Good luck
