Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know about school busses from Colchester to Westcliff.

I have been told the Consortium buses do not do this run.
Are any parents trying to arrange private transport for this route and would be willing to accept one more Boy?

I went through this exercice myself last year when my DS failed to gain place at CRGS and we made a late application to WHSB which was successful.

Although not in Colchester we are in one of the villages between Colchester and Hatfield Peveril where the nearest consortium bus goes from. For us, the fastest method was for our DS to take train to Chelmsford and then walk up to Rainsford Road and cath a bus run by SBS and not the consortium. This bus is a fast one, I believe, contracted by parents.

It was still going to be a daunting journey and I must admit our aim was to keep him at GS level with the aim of gaining a place at either KEGS or CRGS later. We loved WHSB and were quite happy for our DS to go there but it is an incredibly long journey. I think he was going to have to be on a train arriving in Chelmsford at about 7:30.

I tried to see if there were other parents who wanted to get together to arrange a mini-bus or similar but failed. In my attempts however I was told that a group of parents near Halstead had managed to do this by leafleting DCs at consortium bus stops at the nearest point, which in our case would have been Hatfield Peveril to see if they wanted to chip in for a faster journey and they had managed to pull it off.

Anyway very good luck.
