Hi,

Looking at the prospectus its 8.45am to 3.35 pm
lunch 1230 to 1325.

Do you know if we have anything sent out from the school soon?

EDIT just had the massive pack of info from the school.

Dont know about anyone else but i feel a bit overwhelmed at the prospect. Probably because she is my first child and I find it hard to imagine her not being at our lovely local primary with her brother and sister anymore.

Sounds a bit silly i guess. Everyone says they change so much when they go to secondary school.

Thanks - we seem to have mislaid the prospectus

Our info pack from the school has just arrived.

Sorry mods I intended to start a new thread with my other post not highjack the boys!

Well this confused me as initially I thought why is someone asking for her daughter for CRGS  ?
Well it is Friday and I just had a glass of chardonnay and haven't had dinner yet.
Perhaps the magical moderators could split this thread so we have a CCHS (Colchester) thread as well as CRGS and CCHS (Chelmsford). Really there are too many Cs in these school names!

Ok, next questions!

Can anyone tell me how forms are organised - is it just random or is there a system? Also is there any streaming for classes or any subjects?

Finally, the kit list for PE has a skort, two different pairs of shorts and tracksuit bottoms. What do they use them all for?!!! Especially as there only seems to be 1 polo shirt!

Congrats to those whose DD`s who are in, my daughter is in year 7 at Colchester and still enjoying herself despite the long day. Regarding the pe kit, they do as far as I am aware use it all including the skort thing, I will ask my DD tomorrow what is used for what. Its quite a lot of kit to get but it does all fit in the PE bag somehow(you will get a form for the CCHS PE bag...huge thing it is too with name on)

One piece of advice from other parents last year was to get the bus form in asap as spaces can be limited depending on the route and service etc.

My daughter is looking forward to welcoming all the `littleones`for this year on their introduction day and letting the older girls coo and aaah over them instead!! They are just about still classed as cute and little by the bigger girls, but not for long

If I remember rightly my daughters teacher at junior school asked my DD if she had a friend who was going to her school who she might like in her class, unfortunately there wasnt anyone, but she met up weeks later with a few girls (via this site) and is in class with one of them which is nice and she doesnt live far either. Please dont worry though, my DD is really quiet and shy and she has made loads of friends, they have plenty of opportunities to get to know each other on introduction days where they swap numbers etc and find out where each other live.

DD is the only child going to a grammar school from her primary this year so no chance of her knowing anyone, but fortunately she doesn't seem too concerned. Luckily she will be able to travel most of the way on the bus with her brother (if I can persaude him to go a bit earlier!) and she does know several older girls there.

At CRGS the forms are unstreamed but the boys get streamed for maths and french in year 9, I was wondering if anything happened like that at colchs?
