Following on from a discussion I've had today what are your thoughts on the change of the 11+ exam to September. Do you think it really is so that parents/children have the results before filling in the CAF? Do you think there is a hidden agenda?

A comment was made to me today that it would be a way for the schools to be even more selective but I didn't understand what they meant. Any thoughts?

The change of date will be lead by a national initiative to give parents more information before filling in the CAF.

i wish we'd had the results up front, its so stressful filling in your form before you know how well theyve done, or even if theyve passed. For those children that are perhaps borderline marks, you can then view the comprehensives with a different eye. We also decided not to put Kegs, although DS is clever as we didnt want the uncertainty of being on the waiting list, if we knew in advance we couldve made a proper decision based on facts rather than hopes
