Last year the PTA organised a new student and family social evening in the summer term which was well attended. Invites came with the information pack from the school.

My daughter is also going to ColCHS and is also very shy and reserved.

We live in the Chelmsford area and my daughter will be getting a school bus.

Is there anyone else who will be getting a Chelmsford school bus to ColCHS as it would be nice if the girls could either meet up or email each other beforehand? (My daughter is very worried about not knowing anyone on her bus)

Whilst I quite agree it is a good idea to make friends before - the school is very good about this. The girls are encouraged to book onto "their" bus for the induction day in July, they are then sorted into groups for the journey and year 10's allocated to escort/supervise them onto it in the evening. Also the classes are carefully chosen and geographical area / bus routes seem to be one of the things taken into account. Most of the girls on DD's bus are in her class.

My daughter also got Colchester.
We live in a village just outside Halstead and daughter is the only one from her school so would also be interested in meeting up.

Hi everyone, feel like I am responding late to everything but couldn't get on for some reason but have been reading with great interest. My DD gained a place at colCHS this year and was the only one we live in Colchester so would definitely be keen to meet up with others or at least establish a communication before induction day.

Hi All,

My DD got a place in Colchester County High School for Girls. We live in Basildon and would like to move to Chelmsford. Please advice whether moving to Chelmsford would be good idea. I understand she could take bus No 676 from Chelmsford to Colchester which will take about 45 minutes. I would appreciate if you could let me know if your DD is also planning to travel from Chelmsford to Colchester so that they could meet and get to know each other.
