Hi

My daughters score has come - SS 317. I know that the lowest score offered over the last 4 years is 327. Bearing in mind that the exam is so much earlier than 4 years ago and we were only notified of it moving to September earlier this year, do you think the overall scores may be lower this year? I don't know whether to try or not. Its so hard to try and make the right descision. xx

The standardisation should have eliminated any decrease in the raw scores caused by the exam being 2 months earlier. However the effect of Chelmsford's new catchment area on the scores required for Colchester is unknown.

The mark looks low for Colchester but as you have 6 choices to use, unless you really have 6 other schools you want to apply for, you have nothing to lose by applying. Just don't build up any expectation of a place with your DD.
