for how many places? I'd be interested to know. And how many of those came from independent schools?

Actually, I'd quite like to know the answer about how many of the Essex 11+ candidates were from Indies this year.

Mmm. Particularly interested in how many boys sat for CRGS/KEGS places, how many were Indie/State pupils. Wonder if we can ever find that data.

would be interesting to if the birth rate for the kids that did the 11 plus this September 2012 was high or low?? .....heard a friend mention that some local secondary schools may have extra spaces since the 2013 yr 7 entry is not as huge as last year. so may be more kids would get into grammar schools this year . how does one know how many kids did the 11 plus every year ??

Does anyone know roughly how many people sat the exams in previous years? Presumably there was an increase this year due to the catchment changes.

Actually, thinking about it, that is the number that put the school as a preference so obviously some applicants will have put more than one option.
Sorry may not be of much use to you.
We only chose one Grammar School last year and fortunately got it.

Would the CSSE give us the statistics of how many C
in Essex took the 11+ and how many got the 303 or above
score, or are we not privy to that information ?

If anyone is brave enough to ask CSSE - it would be great to know how many took it this year and how that compares to previous 4 years.

They probably know this off the top of their heads...
