at Chelmsford or Colchester schools yesterday? So far all I have heard of are independent school pupils that have been offered places. Can someone restore my faith in the system, with which I am now totally disillusioned, and tell me of children from state primaries in mid/north Essex that have got in?

Morning

5 children from my daughter's small state primary school class in Colchester secured places yesterday at the two local grammars (1 boy, 4 girls).

Proud to say my DS got a place at CRGS from a small (less than 120 pupils) village state school in North Essex.

He scored 366.? having had 1 year's tutoring.

We are this weekend writing to the school's Governors to thank the Head and teachers for how they have supported DS through his primary years as they have been very adaptable and willing to try new things to ensure that he reached his potential with them. Importantly, they also ensured that he developed social skills with peers which was an area for concern in early years.
