It states on the WHSB information pack that school trousers must be made of worsted or terylene, do I have to purchase these from a specialist uniform shop or will a high street shop like M&S stock them? The same with the blazer, can I just purchase a blazer from a high street store and sew the school badge on?
Many thanks in advance.

DS1 being at a rival establishment down the road from WHSB, I have no experience of the school as a parent, but I have to say as a fairly frequent co-user of the pavement with WHSB pupils, that the badges look like an integral part of the blazer pocket rather than sew-ons. Just had a quick look through their parent handbook online (we are looking at schools for DS2 at the moment anyway :) ) and the blazer is one of the items that are available from the school uniform shop; no mention of buy your own and we will sell you a badge.

As for their trousers, it has never occurred to me that they were anything other than the usual M&S-type black ones. A slim cut seems quite popular, especially with the older boys, by the way. Probably best to give the school a ring, to be absolutely sure. Although I note from the Handbook that they prefer letters as a means of communication - and will neither acknowledge nor act upon emails...

Blazer has to be purchased from the school. DS has M&S trousers (flat front, I think). Got two ties, to save the frantic "where's my tie" shouting match.

Twice in 5 years DS1 has managed to make it all the way to SHSB without a tie on at all... We have been able to rescue him, but I think were told that one could probably have been borrowed. We always buy two, too. I hope the tie we were shown at Cecil Jones back when DD visited in yr6 isn't the one they might lend her should she manage to get there improperly dressed - it seemed to have had a nasty accident in DT (textiles) followed by something with custard for lunch

My DS is in Year 7 and we bought the school blazer from their uniform shop, its not sew the badge type. Trousers you can always buy from high street shops like M&S, Next or Debenhams.
