Chelmsford also has two Park and Ride car parks if you don't want to drive into town http://www.essexhighways.org/Public-Tra ... -Ride.aspx. We only use the Sandon one as we approach Chelmsford from the South - from there it would be stop 3 for the station then about 10 minutes' walk. The Chelmer Valley bus takes a slightly different route in town but also stops near the station. The P&R bus has a dedicated lane so mostly avoids traffic jams.
