My daughter is taking 11+ and CEM in September.

Just wondered how much prep people are doing with their kids? How many hours a week etc? Past papers or not yet? Timed or not?

Thanks all

Hi StephiB,

My DD is also sitting on this year for 11+ and CEM.

Honestly, I've not started anything yet related to test papers and timed ones. We are still practising.................

No strict hours in days and week-ends.... Things are not going by plans if I do... And I am quite worried and this makes the situations worse in my home. So, we are just doing relaxing routine with reading(must everyday before bedtime- not more than 30 mins) and lots of interventions related to vocabulary and understanding of the story or any non-fiction books. Just increasing the awareness related to all types of possible questions. 30 mins Maths practise everyday. That is a very hard job for me everyday.

I would like to start past papers and timed tests, but we are nowhere nearer. I may start in mid of June. Just worried if I give her papers and not scoring enough that may demoralize her(I personally feel). So stretching my time in practise. The good thing with my DD is her incredible speed and rate of accuracy. So, I'm not bothered in giving her timed papers and just concentrating on introducing all the worst type of questions in CEM style.

I am glad that your DD is also writing for CCHS.

Thanks,
Crusoe.
