Any other ex grammar students in here
Just wondering if any other ex grammar students are in here an have had your experiences guide your views on how you've approached your dc taking the 11+?
I'm ex CCHS and even though the head has changed twice since my time it made me determined not to let my dd go there and nearly stopped me entering her completely. Has anyone else found the same?

Yep. Me and DH both went to single sex GS.
We met in sixth form. Both agreed did not like being in single sex school and schools were too focused on the academic/ university and not supportive of other options. Said we would never send our kids to a single sex grammar.
THEN DD1 decided she wanted to go to my old school. She took the test and got in. Now in year 10 and loves it. DD2 has followed her and started this Sept.
Inspite of my best efforts to put them off they have made their own choice - and so far appears to be right for them.
Edited to add: 1. At least we have experience to help them avoid the pitfalls of GS education. 2. Hopefully things have changed anyway from our day!
