Borderline pass - successful appeals? Westcliff & Southend

Hi all,
Does anyone have experience of appeals for the Southend or Westcliff schools?
I notice from the admissions brochure that there have been appeals upheld but I wondered what the grounds were? Is there any way of finding out?
Do any of you have experience of successful appeal for a borderline score? (302 - in priority admissions area).
