I would like to know how much emphasis is given to this subject during KS3? How much encouragement is there for self-learning of the different programming languages, scripts etc at KEGS, CRGS and WHSB? I know they all have coding clubs at lunchtime/after school?

DS started to explore various tutorials online guided by his father but I had to curb his enthusiasm at the beginning of the year when we figured out the amazing comprehensive (5 mins walking distance) was not our in catchment school! DS is away on a residential from Monday but I've told him to resume learning during half-term.

They use scratch and code academy at WHSB. My boys are not into computing but they tell me the school runs lunchtime clubs and the tech area is open for self-study with six formers helping. Hope that helps.

Thank you for replying Good3boys :)

I thought one of the schools had a Raspberry Pi club but now I can't seem to find that reference
