Hi All

Does anyone have any idea how many places were not filled at the grammars and how many kids were successful in their appeals?

From memory there were something like 24-27 appeals at Tommies, of which 8 were successful. This took the Y7 intake to 116 (4 classes of 29), 8 more than PAN (4 classes of 27).

Co-incidentally  , 116 was the number that Tommies had asked to increase their PAN to, but had been refused by the local authority. The refusal was due to there being spare spaces, apparently, at other GSs.

As Tolstoy has pointed out in another post, Tommies currently only has 115 in Y7 as one boy has gone elsewhere. This "spare" place cannot be offered automatically to someone on the waiting list as they are still over PAN.

(....I cannot believe that I have picked up so much information in such a short space of time about Glos schools and admission policies! Really did not expect things to turn out like this!)
