Re: Different answer format
From my DD's recollection of last year's test, the answers are on the question paper and only a,b,c etc are on the answer sheet. We haven't found any papers to practice this method. So we have just warned our DS what to expect and to double check that he is matching the question numbers to the answers.

Re: Different answer format
If it is the format of the answer sheet (and a dim recollection comes back to me that it may be - don't rely on it though!), it is much easier than the usual multiple choice format.
Instead of recalling (say) "Q.73, 61342 is the correct answer" and then locating that among several very similar answers among the 5 choices on the answer sheet, the only information the children have to hold in memory is the question number and the letter of the correct answer, e.g. 73, D.
Prepare for both and be thankful if it is the option I have described.

Re: Different answer format
I think the tip is to tell them to keep their finger next to the answer on the question sheet until they have marked it on the answer sheet to cdouble check as they answer and make sure they do not foget the answer between question and answer sheet!!!
DD goes stratight to the answer sheet in some questions so this will slow her down a little
But I think it is only on the first paper not the second

Re: Different answer format
Glos Mum, I just wrote you an elaborate answer but lost it by clicking something random on my keyboard!
Just wanted to say that the offending answer sheet is in sections - one section per page of questions so not likely that DC will mis-mark answers all the way through.
Good luck to everyones' DCs for Saturday.
