Yup, the first D in DD, DS etc is too ghastly and smug for words. But very much there, and serves an anonymity purpose, quickly establishing gender, and place in the system - DS1, DD2, etc, so best not to think about it too much. Somewhere on this site it is suggested that the D can also stand for Dreadful, Dire, etc. That might help??

PS, Bombadah, you might not need this bit anymore (tho it's quite comforting to return to now and again ) but there are other forum areas such as After 11+ and GCSE etc, located down at the bottom of the listings page. A plethora of useful information lurks there.

ENTRANCE TEST RESULTS

Those who registered electronically for the entrance test will be sent their results by email from midnight on Friday 14th October.

It seems only 500 children have taken the test at Pates on last Saturday, which is a bit contrary to their previous message indicating a significant increase in the number of applicants this year.

Remember that every school will send a seperate e-mail ,so, if you have ticked the box for a school you will hear from them after midnight. You don't have to have sat at the school!
