My DS didn't get anywhere near the pass mark despite being in the ninth stanine for his CATS.I am absolutely gutted for him and can't make any sense of it. Our catchment comp is dreadful. All his friends have passed...... it doesn't seem possible. I don't know what to do. Or how to tell him. He never got lower than 80% at home and often in high 90's...... HELP!!! We did have good grounds for appeal and made case early for mitigating circumstances as there been serious illness in our immediate family. I am still horrified though. AND SO GUILTY. Feel I haven't done enough to bring out his natural ability on the day.

Katchy, is that a Tommies score? A few years ago 210 got in but it was up to 215 in more recent years. You will know more when the Crypt scores come out. Did you share with them? All is not lost! Just in the twilight zone :)

@neveragain, I am so sorry for you and your son. If you have good grounds for appeal then that is worth persuing but you cannot do anything until you have been allocated a school next year. The appeals forum is excellent and there are lots of knowledgeable people on here who can help you. Best of luck x

Dear neveragain worry not. My son been getting 95/97.5% in the practice papers - high achiever at school - scored 198!!!!! Cant get my head round it. Had to be moved on day as he was upset that someone was crying in his group (very sensitive child) and he felt sick so my paper trail had already started. I am remarkably calm. Just need to put the fight up for the comp of my choice as not in catchment!!!!!
