Well, I E-mailed Kukri with my DD's measurements, because I could not tell what size to get her skort. They just E-mailed back with the same size guide that is on their website, which still does not make it clear. What is the point of knowing the length of a size 4 skort if they don't tell you the waist size? Why couldn't the person who E-mailed me the reply work out the size I need from the measurements I sent :?:

I am glad there may be second hand stuff at the open evening in June, but that day is just for parents, so without DD with me I may still get the wrong size :(

Fluffycat, I can't locate these £9 blazers on the website for M&S, what am I missing?

Blazers gone from M+S now - they sold out fairly quickly :( . There was someone selling new ones on Ebay for about 15 pounds and the trutex website (not called that but enter trutex and it comes up in google) has the viscount blazer (as sold by The Famous) at half price. Hope that helps.

Just checked - it's called schooluniformshop.co.uk

Sorry for delay - have had very hectic Easter weekend!

Baselayer - doesn't have to be Kukri, bought mine from online hockey specialist in Cheshire (Barringtons) paid approx £22, DD has white one but apparently black is preferred for team players. Kukri is black I believe.

aargh - re. skort - is size 4 the smallest? If so, that's what I ordered for DD and it's still fine in yr8 even after a growth spurt! DD's waist NOW 24" so must only have been 22" or smaller when ordering kit for yr7. Skorts fade and look shabby very quickly but I guess they all look like that - not good considering the price though :(

Gum shields - OPRO fitted ones through school are great, but think it may have been a bit of a waste of money (£40+!!) as one wobbly tooth and they don't fit properly anymore. Suggestion to buy their do it yourself kit (again I ordered from Barringtons) - silver or gold seem pretty good (£14ish).

Thanks glparent. I shall have to get the size 4 skort (which is the smallest). But I'm blowed if I'm buying anything else from a company that arranges things in such an inconvenient fashion.

If you are allowed other makes, Personally i would recommend the shock doctor gel max gum shields over the opro DIY ones. They fit really well and are very comfortable to wear. They can also be remoulded a couple of times. (usually about 12-14 quid. )
