Does anyone know the details of how students from Swindon travel to Pates?

We have been looking at Marling as it seemed do-able on the train (very simple and direct)
But ds would much prefer Pates as he doesn't want to go single sex. I had never considered it because it seems a long way.

Just wondered how difficult it would actually be, and if anyone had any experience of it?
