Stroudydad, hadn't realised you don't get your Pate's score if you don't qualify!! Having been through it with DS 3 years ago, I was expecting a no from Pate's today but hoping it would give us an indication of chances at HSFG or Ribston. So is it just 'yes, 120', 'maybe, waiting list' or 'no with no score' now then?

I think you do get the score if you don't qualify; but do not get it if you are in top 120/180 (you get the rank in the latter case), iyswim. This certainly was the case until last year.

Thanks Amber, that is what I remember from 3 years ago, so fingers crossed. At least I'm kind of prepared for both possibilities now! Good luck, everyone, and thanks so much for the expert advice and encouragement, don't know what I would do without it! Off to work now, probably a good thing :o !

If memory serves me right, two years ago, DS1 was told that he had not qualified for Pates, but was given his score, and last year DS2 was just told that he had not qualified, no score given.

Maybe the year before then.
It is certainly exactly what happened when both of my sons took the test.
