DD did a comprehension paper this morning on Black Beauty and aced it ! goes to show the subject matter does affect the score, lets hope its an interesting comprehension text, maybe even about horses

Very pleased for her. Yes, content is really important. Ds's best one yet was on football and his worst a letter of complaint about anti social behaviour!

It also has a big impact on Cloze passages. I have seen scores rocket up and down passage by passage depending on the student's past knowledge of the subject matter. DG
