Adverbs, similes, analogies etc!
Does anyone know if reading comp questions are likely to test knowledge of nouns, adjectives, metaphors etc? A lot of the test papers you can buy have a significant no. of questions such as 'Which word in line 12 is the adverb?' or 'The quote '......'(line 16) is an example of a simile, personification etc.' Or is it more likely to be contextual ques?

It can be both but I do not know about your area. Comprehension means understanding of the passage which also means appreciating the structure and language.
