Re: HSFG PAN increase
Just out of interest, did they give any reasons as to why they want to increase?
Crypt stated their reasons were due to increase in demand, always oversubscribed, a need for more secondary school places, can accommodate more students etc.

The real reason is more prosaic. Bums on seats = more money. Not saying I blame them - all schools are squeezed at the moment. All the grammars are expanding...the individual minutiae are a bit different between them but essentially it is about money.cazien wrote:Just out of interest, did they give any reasons as to why they want to increase?

What Amber says is likely to be true. However, it is also true that the population of Gloucester (and Gloucestershire) is increasing, so there is a need for added secondary places at all levels. Hopefully the increases in PAN for the Grammars will not adversly affect the Secondaries.
