appeals for Pates
Can anyone please help me ? Do you know of any cases when an extremely bright child has flunked the Pates test for some bizarre reason and then managed to get in after appeal ?
thanks for that - I had a search but not found out anything regarding Pates . The child concerned had been a consistently high scorer in all the practice tests ( 90 % + ) . A re - mark has been requested but I don't hold out much hope! Things must have gone very badly on the day - maybe nerves, who knows ?

MChelt - did your child get a placing at all in the test? The fact two appeals were upheld in a previous year indicates that it is worthwhile attempting an appeal - if you have sufficient evidence then you definitely have a chance. Yes 15 failed, but 2 were successful and so could you be.
Good luck and check out the appeals section for helpful hints and tips.
