There are two VR tests on the day.

I can confirm that the first VR test that the children sat last year, possibly previously, has a slightly different format to the second.

If you go to the Bucks section and look at the current 12+ thread there you will find more info on this. I have checked with DS1 who sat the test this year and this is the format that was used.

The main difference I can see is that it prevents children working directly from the answer sheet so will affect timing.

Hi
Thanks for that info
This gets confusing thusly (example describes it best)

g=2 h=3 i=4 j=5 k=23

i x j + h =

give your answer as a letter

a) g b) h c) i d)j e) k

So the answer is obviously k ...which is really e on the answer sheet!!

Why change the format? Obviously the kids need this extra challenge but it does leave them much more open to transcription errors....not FAIR I say!! :?

But surely it will affect all the children, so therefore is fair.

Maybe it's to weed out those who are not flexible?

I should add that I have no insider knowledge on this matter!
