Re format of 11+, VR test 1
There are two VR tests on the day.
I can confirm that the first VR test that the children sat last year, possibly previously, has a slightly different format to the second.
If you go to the Bucks section and look at the current 12+ thread there you will find more info on this. I have checked with DS1 who sat the test this year and this is the format that was used.
The main difference I can see is that it prevents children working directly from the answer sheet so will affect timing.

That could be potentially very confusing
Hi
Thanks for that info
This gets confusing thusly (example describes it best)
g=2 h=3 i=4 j=5 k=23
i x j + h =
give your answer as a letter
a) g b) h c) i d)j e) k
So the answer is obviously k ...which is really e on the answer sheet!!
Why change the format? Obviously the kids need this extra challenge but it does leave them much more open to transcription errors....not FAIR I say!!

But surely it will affect all the children, so therefore is fair.EmeraldE wrote:....not FAIR I say!!
Maybe it's to weed out those who are not flexible?
I should add that I have no insider knowledge on this matter!
