My child has mentioned a form her primary school is using to rank according to academic ability and attitude to learning, but I don't know how it is to be used.

I have not heard of this. All the Barnet selective schools set their exams independently of each other which I believe is quite different to the Bucks system. My impression is that its either pass or fail on the day and I don't think headteachers views come in to it. If you look at the HBS website they only had 4 appeals last year and all were unsuccessful. I suspect its the same for QE and St Mikes. Don't know about the Herts schools as they seem to run a consortium. Would be interested if anyone else knows.

I have a child in a Barnet school, my child has been shown this form too.
She was inteviewed by her teacher. The teacher records attitudes to learning and academic potential.

My child was told this information was to be given to the secondary schools she is applying to. I don't think the form is for use with younger year groups.
