Change of address

We applied to two schools in the Watford Consortium, based on academia as we live out of county HA3 postcode. Unfortunately our DS was not successful. We have now sold our house and will move to a HA5 postcode which will put us in the outer catchment for all Watford schools. Our move takes place in April. Have we any new options ie can we apply, as new to the area, our DS has already sat 11+?

You need to find out your score in the academic tests from the schools you did apply to.

An address in HA5 1-5 would be in the outer catchment for Watford Boys. You'd need to talk to the school about getting on their waiting list -- documentation of the impending sale and purchase may be enough. However their cutoff for the outer area has historically been quite high (see the stats sticky). If your score was below the Clement Danes cutoff, it's probably below the WB cutoff too.

If it's HA5 3**, you'd be in catchment for Queens', which has a lower cutoff.

Thanks our new postcode will be HA5 5. Have requested my DS score from St Clement Danes.
