Watford Grammar Boys and Girls & Yavenah Y7 and Y8 students.

DAO had an athletic championship last week against about fifty students from Years Seven and Eight at Watford Girls and Boys and Yavenah. I was struck by their fantastic behaviour. I have spent a lot of time with much younger badly behaved children at athletics and I was really amazed by how respectful and polite they were. They only had to be told anything once and these great big gangling boys were instantly apologetic. They were a real pleasure to be around. Very sporting unlike some schools where students have booed and jeered our students during events. At one school the whole team cheered everytime our team missed a shot at goal in hockey. Kudos to the teachers and parents of these students who were real ambassadors for their schools. DG
