Letter from SCD to DC who has accepted 1st choice JOA/ricky

Hi
My DC is on the continuing interest list for St Clement Danes. Interestingly, a few people have mentioned to me recently that, just after allocation time, St Clement Danes sent a letter to parents that had accepted their first choice place at other schools (JOA/Ricky I have heard of) clarifying that they would have been offered a place at St Clement Danes had it been selected as their first choice.

Is anyone else aware of this letter? Did anyone put their name down on SCD CI list because of this letter and since received a place? Does anyone know whether or not this could have an impact on my DC’s position on the continuing interest list?
Thanks

If such people had put their names on the continuing interest list, they would have been at the top, and would have been given the first place that became available, ahead of people already on the list.

I heard about this letter from a friend. The letter, as I understood it, said that because the child had been offered a place at a school they had ranked higher in the application process, SCD were not able to offer a place or put them on a CI list. However, I do believe it was worded really strangely and made a lot of people think they would have been offered a place - even when they were several miles from the school (so wouldn't have got a distance place) and didn't take the secondary transfer test (so wouldn't have been offered an academic place)!
