Yourlondon.gov mess up

Was our on line experience yesterday unique?
I was texted at work by husband Friday morning saying 'no place allocated' ! When he clicked on the option to 'View offer for application ***' he received the message 'We are unable to offer a place at any of the ?options' or something similar.
This was relayed to my son and to his headteacher. Surprise all round, though this outcome was always a risk given our list of 6 schools. Thankfully, we had an offer at dependent school which we agreed would now need to accept .
At 2 pm I decided to take a look myself to see how cruelly worded the message really was, only to see that he had a place at his first choice school (DAO)!! I telephoned my LEA and they confirmed he had a place at DAO all along (as confirmed by the letter sent out March 1st) but they could not explain the incorrect info on the site in the morning- though at least one other person had reported similar.
Well, obviously a good outcome but a near miss also:I had written the cheque for the private school deposit and was about to phone them. Plus our son spent the day thinking no state school wanted him!
