Hi. A ranking/preference question here. We live reasonably close to Parmiters to have a chance of getting in under the distance criteria. However we want to put down WGGS as first choice as my daughter prefers it. Now for the academic route I've heard that putting Parmiters below WGGS is a wasted preference, but in our case if my child doesn't qualify for WGGS under the academic criteria might she still get into Parmiters on distance?
TIA.

Each school will assess your application separately. They don't know where you've ranked them, or what other schools you've applied for. If you're close enough to Parmiter's to get a distance place, then the only way you'll not be offered that is if you also qualify for WGGS (which you've ranked higher). The preferences are only used when you qualify for more than one school.

Short story: just rank the schools as you personally prefer them, and the system try to follow your wishes.
