Consortium Academic and Music Test Results

Post by RationalityRules »

I just wanted to wish the best of luck to all those parents and children waiting for their results tomorrow. I know we won't actually know our allocated schools for months, but I hope that everyone gets the results they've been hoping for tomorrow. RR

Same from me. This forum has been a great support to me personally. I hope all our dc get the outcome they want. For my ds, this may not be Parmiters after all as he is still adamant he does not want to go.

Will anyone be posting tomorrow?

How about those who want to share news post scores only, with no comments or replies?

I would be happy to post results - we have all been in this together, may as well be there at the end

TBH I think it's more considerate not to post results, after all we are all aware of the lowest scores that have obtained places at the consortium schools over previous years as they are posted on the schools' websites. Could be a bit stressful seeing very high scores posted after what's been a very stressful time for everyone!

The moderators have discussed this, and we ask that people not post high scores. Tomorrow, some people will get very good news, some will get very bad news, and everyone else will learn that they face another 5 months (or more) of uncertainty. Congratulations to those in the first group, but please be mindful of the range of emotions others will be going through.

The schools have published the lowest scores offered in past years, and we have more detail here. When you get your score, if it's above the lowest score offered by your target school in recent years, you're pretty safe. If you're anywhere near what they've previously offered, you still have a chance. Having a school as a high preference and not getting it will not affect your chances with lower ranked schools. The only way it can hurt you is if it doesn't leave room in your list for more realistic options.

Above all, remember to rank your choices in your true preference order, and to include a safe fallback option. Knowing the scores won't change that.

WP, Thank you for all the great info that you have posted on this site. Are we
150% sure that the lower ranked schs will not know their ranking on our form???
Do you know if this is true of all Herts schools incl Faith schools.

Many thanks
