From the proposed arrangements for 2014 entry, it seems that most schools are making no change for this year, except for Parmiter's. Their changes seem to be giving a definition of "previously looked after", and adding the following regarding the tests:

If an applicant has not taken the admission tests and received results prior to applying for a place at the school, then it will not be possible for the application to be considered under aptitude and academic testing.

i wonder if that is to stop people appealing on the grounds of maladministration. I certainly considered it but asked WGSG how many children had received a place on academic grounds who sat the test at a later date. The answer was 0 so a no go area, but may well have been different at parmiters. I think that by then it should be common knowledge that you need to sit the test in advance, although it does disadvantage those moving into the area ( for genuine reasons)/
