Clash of Test Date [Slough Consortium and SW Consortium]

Hi All,

Has any one encountered this problem in past ?

This year Slough Consortium and Herfordshire Consortium Test dates are same [13th September, 2014]

Is any one aware of any special provisions that allow us as parents to request atleast one of the consortium to arrange the test for my son any other day ? i know, they all have reserve days. But i cant seem to find any guidance advising what to do if a student has 2 exam on the same day.

Any guidance highly appreciated.

I don't know if Herts is CEM, but at least 16 schools are using the same CEM test on the same date, this includes Slough schools.
From what other posters have said you will not be allowed to take the test on a back up day apart from cases of genuine sickness.

If Herts are using CEM then I'd contact them about this.

Hi,

There is already a thread on this here:

Sw herts not cem, just trying to a) reduce tourism and b) get the test done in time to mark it before the caf is due in.

Mods, this post is nothing to do with English and is probably best in the Herts region. These clashes are happening as there are only Saturdays in September to get tests done before results need to be sent out for the CAF at the end of October. Herts clashed last year with DAO and Mill Hill County but agreed to let candidates use backup date. see thread. DG

What about those families who do not want their children to sit test on a Saturday for religious reasons. There must be a back up date.

The best thing is to e-mail, phone or write to the relevant Consortium
