It seems SW Herts and Mill Hill second round exam, both are on 5th Sept, so what is the solution for this?

This has been the same for some years. It is possible to sit both on the same day. I know of students who have done so last year and the year before. You need to sit SW Herts at the nearest school which is probably Parmiters and ask for am at one and pm at the other.

However you need to get through the first round of Mill Hill County first and as the pass mark to get through last year was 129 out of 141 there is no point contacting either school until you get confirmation in Mid July that you have a place in the Mill Hill County Second round. DG

Anyone can register for SW Herts Consortium because there are schools in the consortium such as St Clement Danes and Parmiters that have non catchment places.

However there will not be enough time for you to move between getting the result in mid October and applying by October 31st.

If you are sure that this is the school you want you need to move now so you are in catchment by October 31st. DG

It is unlikely they would be able to buy a property in that time frame but they would easily be able to rent a property. There are a lot of rental properties in Watford and other than St Clement Danes, I don't think there is a minimum rental period required.

Thanks DG and Nonnynunu ...

One last question, if my daughter is strong in VR and Maths , which school in this consortium should she sit the exam in ? Can she sit in watford grammar school for girls ? Not sure whether they have non catchment places

It is all one exam. The schools are in the consortium and it is the same exam sat in one sitting.

Being strong in VR will not longer be the right skill to win a place. The consortium has moved to CEM VR which is English VR, comprehension and missing words and opposite words and similiar. If you want to apply stop doing VR now and start doing CEM. If you look in the forum shop there are plenty of books to choose from. DG

hi it looks like mill hill will not entertain any requests to change time slots even if it clashes with another school they have said it is non negotiable - this is very unfair and does not allow for equal opportunity -

You need to wait until the second round allocations are announced. If you get a high mark you will be in a much better position to ask.

Mill Hill and DAO work this out between them so they are already being flexible for that clash. DG
