Cem - dao & parmiters
Would I be correct in saying
Dao and parmiters- There is no comprehension section in the cem vr ?
No NR, just synonyms, antonyms, cloze...
Hbs
Any comprehension section in the cem vr?
DG has mentioned hbs does test NR

Re: Cem - dao & parmiters
DAO and SW Herts are doing English VR only so there will be no Maths in the paper. They are using exactly the same paper so no applicant for both schools will be allowed to sit twice.
Applicants for both schools must sit the CEM VR on 5th September at a SW Herts School because SW Herts only has one sitting so the Maths must be taken on 5th September.
Applicants who sit at DAO will not then be able to receive a Maths mark for SW Herts.
There is no guarantee of what VR there will be in the paper but English CEM VR consists of:
Cloze, A and S, Comprehension, Shuffled Sentences, Compound Words.
HBS do CEM English VR and CEM Numerical Reasoning (NR) which is Maths. They do not do NVR.
Everyone else does the whole of CEM which is VR, NR and NVR. DG

Re: Cem - dao & parmiters
The same test can only be taken once.
DAO, CCHS and HBS are all different CEM tests.
Are you signed up for these three?
All those on CEM Super Saturday 12th September are the same test so can only be taken once.
But HBS is different and is on 17th September and DAO and SW Herts is different and on 5th September.
Many students will sit DAO CEM on 5th September, Latymer CEM on 12th and HBS on 17th, all different papers. DG

Re: Cem - dao & parmiters
I think you are probably sitting SW Herts not DAO though it is the same paper.
DAO has a catchment area but anyone can sit SW Herts as Parmiters and Clement Danes have non catchment places. DG

Re: Cem - dao & parmiters
Even if your DD does manage to take the same paper twice, I think CEM just uses the score from the first time for the subsequent schools, rather than disqualify her altogether, so it wouldn't really matter. It would be best to check with someone at Durham University if you can find the right contact details, though?

Re: Cem - dao & parmiters
This will now be the third time I have told you this. The restriction is on taking the same paper. You are taking three different papers.
Last year and the year before there were hundred of dds who took Latymer and HBS and this year there will be hundreds more who will take DAO, Latymer and HBS and many ds who take Latymer and DAO.
I know of students who are sitting exactly the same three papers as you are. DG
