Tutor for GCSE

Hi all

I am looking for a tutor to start preparing for GCSE. Obviously there are loads of tutors out there but i was wondering if anyone could recommend one, who got experience and willing to give knowledge.

Many Thanks

We try to keep the forum as safe as possible - we don't allow tutors to be openly recommended, because it attracts posts with fake recommendations ('dodgy' advertising solely designed to solicit business on the internet).
It is also not unknown for unscrupulous competitors to 'plant' posts seeking to denigrate the opposition!

Genuine recommendations from forum members by PM only (private message) are permitted - but be aware of the possibility that someone who appears to be a 'helpful parent' offering advice may not be all they seem! There could be an ulterior motive.

Always treat recommendations from unknown persons with great caution.
However, we have many long standing members (check carefully the date of joining and number of posts) who make a very valuable contribution to the forum. If you receive a private recommendation from one of them, it could be worth considering.

Please let us know if you think anyone is abusing the system by soliciting for business or 'spamming'.
It's easy to report a possible problem - just click on the red exclamation mark that appears with every post and PM: Image

You probably need to say what subject. If it's more than one subject you are likely to need more than one tutor.

You probably need to ask the mods to amend the title as it says "tour" rather than "tutor"

If your child is struggling, his / her first post of call should be the subject teachers, to explain to them what it is that is not being understood. Although unless you are masking their lack of understanding by doing their homework for them, one would have thought that the teachers would have noticed that there is a problem. Does the school not have lunchtime / after school remedial sessions?

Toad mum,
My son not struggling at all, in fact, I do not check his homeworks (maybe once in a half year). I am just a parent, who got child , who asking me every day to have a tutor, as he wants make sure get A* at A level.
Thanks for your advices, anyway.

I worry about this - why is the school not helping him get an A* at GCSE?

Most schools put on a myriad of support in KS4 and KS5 for students - all they have to do is ask for extra help.

I would speak to his teachers anyway as they will know his weaker areas.

To acheive A* most of students got tutors. I am talking about grammar schools! I am sure that exist few extremely bright pupil (1,2)but majority got tutors. Heard from my child and other students. Education system based by: we give you knowledge, rest.... Take a tutor.

Thanks everybody for advices, but I am looking for tutor!!!
