Hi,
I have applied in SW Herts and we don't fall in any of the catchment area.
However we are planning to shift our house in second week of July to watford. The new house is in inner catchment area (watford area). My questions are:

1. Is it possible to change our address in admission form at that time and will it give us any benefit.
2. Are the children living in watford area (inner catchment) also require to pass the test?

Thanks

You have not applied to any school. You have only applied to sit the test. There are non catchment places at Parmiters and Clement Danes so anyone can apply to sit the test.

You will not be applying to the school until your CAF form and you have until 31st October for that.

Focus now on getting a good mark in the test. How much preparation have you done? DG

As DG said, for the exam it doesn't matter where you live right now.

If you're going to be living in the inner catchment by 31st Oct, how close will you be? The maximum distance for non-exam places is given here:

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=10227

In March, the boys Grammar offered distance places up to 332m and the girls to 727m. The girls distance has jumped up from the 250m of the past two years. It wouldn't be wise to rely on a distance place so far out again.

So unless you are going to be very close to the school you're aiming for, your child will still have to sit the exam.

Thanks Guys.

Our preparation is going well and we are looking forward to the exam.
I booked a mock exam next month to evaluate.

Thanks.
