We are.

Have a feeling we may be wasting our time as looking at the data we don't seem to stand much of a chance.

http://www.hertsdirect.org/infobase/doc ... sr0607.pdf

Parmiters 2 appeals upheld out of 46 heard.
Boys Grammar school, 38 heard 1 upheld.
DAO, 32 heard 5 upheld.

Trends
Year Heard Percentage upheld
2007/08 145 8%
2006/07 155 10%
2005/06 109 9%
2004/05 155 6%
2003/04 74 8%
2002/03 130 15%

I can't find any data on Rickmansworth. Anyone else know? They handle their own appeals. I believe one child I know may have got in there on appeal.

Anyone know how their waiting list is moving?

They are pretty grim figures Toony.

What kind of grounds for appeal do you or Watdad have? (sorry if that's to nosey!). I really don't get the appeals system in Herts - as I see it (and I'm probably wrong) surely one only stands a chance of success if the rules haven't been applied correctly. This is very different from places like Bucks where people appeal saying "granny died the night before, ordinarily my DS is a grade A student" or something.

Seems like you're both in for a stressful time.... Hope someone on these boards more knowledgable than me can help you.

I am appealing for a place at WBG. I'm taking it lightly, with the view that we probably won't succeed, but whats the harm in trying, at least i won't regret that i didnt try
