Anyone with a DD at Parmiter's out there - query on uniform!

I'm hoping someone with a girl at Parmiter's can help me! I've been sent the PE kit list as there is a sale on at the school on Monday. Unfortunately, I can't go but I have been sent an order list.

The list naturally covers all available items - but do I need to get all of it? Specifically, would my DD need both shorts & a PE skirt? (at my old school you chose what you preferred). Also, the website says you MUST have the tracksuit if you play for a team. But it's just not clear whether my DD would need it ordinarily for winter lessons (she would love to play for a number of teams but you can't count on it!). Also, is there a school PE kit bag or will any bag do?

Sorry for the mundane questions. But we don't know anyone either at or going to Parmiter's & I'm feeling a bit isolated!

Thanks,

T.

Hi there - I have a son starting in September and also got that letter re the kit. I am going on Monday and I can ask about the girl's sports kit and post on here if no-one else replies before then! I am sure that there will be opportunities at the school when they start because the parmiters website refers to buying PE kit next to the gym or something like that - and you have to get into a team to get the tracksuit?!

I have a daughter there and I got everything on the list. I would say that the only thing she never wore was the football/hockey boots, I am not sure why they never got worn though!

She is not sporty and would never play for a team so I did not get a tracksuit, but it seems with the girls, they are allowed to wear tracksuit bottoms when it is cold, whereas my son says that the boys are are not allowed to!! She is also allowed to wear the Parmiters navy sweartshirt in cold conditions, so you do not have to be in the team to wear one. Mind you, it could be that those in the team have a different type of track suit which I have not seen. You do need skirt and shorts and scary knickers!

Any bag will do.

Thanks very much for the info Watmum, & to you sressed (stressed?) for your kind offer of checking on Monday.

My DD is really excited about starting in September - not sure how she'll feel about scary knickers though

PS: Stressed - do you think we should change our user names now?!

They are scary knickers too!! they took my right back to my school days, they are just as uncomfy as they used to be, albeit with a touch of lycra in these days!!

I too have a son starting in September. I may be surprised but I don't think we will be needing a team tracksuit. From what I have heard from my older son the team tracksuits are ordered from a special form handed out during team practice. But even if they have one the boys cannot wear them for P.E lessons, they are for matches only. In years 10 and 11 some of the P.E lessons are mixed and the boys complain bitterly about the girls being allowed tracksuit bottoms.

Parmiters PE kit - girls need everything they said today. I think the rather awful burgundy knickers are covered by everything else thank goodness

The whole kit adds up though the seller's also offer some rather nice rucksacks with the school's logo and your child's initials (not on the sheet but you can ask) - what parent can refuse?!

Does anyone know the price of the rucksacks so that I can include it on the order form? Thank you.
