Are the dictionaries useful for preparation of 11+ or am I wasting my money?

The one I have looked at is the Collins by Kay Gardner.

i can really recommend the Usborne illustrated maths dictionary, I think they do one for science too. Excellent diagrams and explanations and internet links for more information. I think they are £9.99 but I got mine from Amazon more cheaply. Good for KS3 too.
